Julie Fioretti, soprano, began her musical studies at the age of six with both violin and piano. In addition to her vocal training in Paris with Armande Olivier she has also worked with Howard Crook and Adriana Fernandez.
Passionately interested in baroque performance practice, Julie has regularly been heard as a soloist in Oratorios by Pergolesi' as well as cantatas by both Bach and Telemann. Her stage rôles include Papagena in Mozart's Magic Flute, Sister Constance in Poulenc's Dialogues of the Carmelites and Zerbine in Pergolesi's Serva Padrona.
Julie Fioretti has recently joined the Opera Fuoco Atelier Lyrique, participating in masterclasses held by David Stern, Jay Bernfeld, Isabelle Poulenard, Veronica Cangemi. In June 2011, with Opera Fuoco, she recreated the rôle of Silvera in J.C. Bach’s long lost opéra Zanaida in the historical Goethe Theatre of Bad Lauchstädt, for the Leipzig Bachfest. This production has gone on to Paris’s Cité de la Musique, the Theatre de Saint Quentin-en-Yvelines (where it was recorded for the Zig-Zag territoires label) and at the Wiener Konzerthaus in June 2012.
She has recently been heard at Versaille’s Royal Opera House in Gluck’s Iphigenie in Aulide, and will perform the rôle of Yum)-Yum in Gilbert & Sullivan’s Mikado. She has performed a musical tribute to Aix-en-Provence with Fuoco E Cenere for the Miami Bach Society. Next year she returns to Fuoco E Cenere as the heroine of a musical and theatrical celebration of french culinary know how ( recently pronounced a treasure of world patrimony by Unesco ) entitled Complétement Toqué.
